This
fine classic, red and white '57 Chevy is owned
by Margaret (Pat) Cook and Harvey Treby of New Glasgow, Nova Scotia. This is the
popular and sporty four door hardtop (pillarless sedan). Chevrolet first introduced
this model in 1956, it continued to be very popular into the '60's. What is also
unique about this car is that although it is the hardtop model it is in the 210
series not in the more expensive Belair series.
This
car was purchased new from Spencer Motors in New Glasgow for the grand sum of
$3,800. The car came originally with the in-line six cylinder with the standard
three speed in the column.
The car has been updated with a V8 engine and automatic transmission.
Pat
and Harvey purchased the car in 1992 from a gentleman from the Annapolis valley
in Nova Scotia. The car had been used for drag racing. Pat and Harvey also used
the car to drag race for a year, however, since that time the Chevy has been leading
a much quieter life attending car cruise and Sunday drives in the country.
Pat and Harvey mentioned that they are paying less in 2001 than they paid in 1995
when they came with "Silver Wheels" due to our no claims discount.
